To prepare Spring, HLA strongly encourages new and existing players to knock the rust off this Fall. Games will follow a pickup style and there will be no scheduled practices. Times for games will be determined as registration numbers develop. Fields will be smaller than a normal lacrosse field since we’ll play a 7 on 7 format. This format allows more teams and allows us to keep all games local. This format allows players to develop stickwork including cradling, passing, catching, and shooting. This format accurately mimics the movement and flow of full field lacrosse.
The games will follow regular age & gender-appropriate rules, and players will need all of the standard equipment. See our website for equipment lists and tips. Local, regional, and online equipment vendors are listed on the right side of all pages on our website. There will also be some loaner equipment available, but availability and sizes cannot be guaranteed.
Registration cost ($50/player) will cover referee payments, field equipment, mowing expenses, and striping paint. Registration cost does not cover US Lacrosse membership required to play. New players can join US Lacrosse online. Most HLA members from last spring will probably still have active US Lacrosse memberships. Please check to make sure.
