Concussion Form Required

Parents and Players,

Please be advised that by state law we are now required to collect and maintain a signed Concussion form from each player and parent. These forms are available at the link on the right top of this page. Please print and sign your form and bring it with you to the games this Sunday. We must have a record of receiving this form before your player will be allowed to play.

US Lacrosse, Alabama-Mississippi Chapter Announces First Class of Inductees to Hall of Fame

Lewis, DeCarlo, Puckett, Jefferson and Goska to be Recognized for Decades of Service to Lacrosse in Alabama

Birmingham, Alabama- July 25, 2011-Five lacrosse legends from Birmingham and Huntsville have been selected for induction into the Alabama-Mississippi Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Tom Lewis of Mountain Brook, Arthur DeCarlo and Mark Goska of Vestavia Hills, HB Puckett of Huntsville, and David Jefferson of Homewood were selected by the Alabama-Mississippi Chapter of US Lacrosse to be enshrined on August 12th at the inaugural induction dinner for the chapter’s Hall of Fame. The five inductees together represent nearly a century of service and dedication to lacrosse in AlabamaLewis, who played collegiately at Georgetown University, was selected for his many roles in the early years of youth, High School and College lacrosse in Alabama. He also founded the Dan Anderson Lacrosse Classic and the Alabama Lacrosse Officials Association, and recently retired after 10 years of coaching the Mountain Brook High School boys team.

DeCarlo played at Washington and Lee University and was a co-founder of the Magic City Lacrosse Club in Birmingham and the Birmingham Youth Lacrosse League. DeCarlo has spent the last several years coaching elementary-aged girls lacrosse in Vestavia Hills.

HB Puckett, who played football at the University of Tulsa, was instrumental in starting youth and high school boys lacrosse in Huntsville more than 10 years ago. He currently serves as coach of the Grissom High School boys lacrosse team.

David Jefferson played lacrosse at Sewanee: The University of the South, and was a co-founder of the Magic City Lacrosse Club and the Shades Valley YMCA youth lacrosse program. Jefferson also served for many years as President of the Birmingham Youth Lacrosse League, and is currently the boys coach at Homewood High School.

Mark Goska, who played at Texas Tech, currently serves as head coach of the John Carroll Catholic High School boys lacrosse team. Goska previously served as president of the Birmingham Youth Lacrosse League and the US Lacrosse chapter, and was a co-founder of the Magic City Lacrosse Club.

The Inaugural Class of 2011 will be enshrined at the Hall of Fame’s Induction Ceremonies at the Vestavia Country Club. This historic class was nominated for induction by their peers and chosen by a selection committee from the Alabama-Mississippi Chapter of US Lacrosse.

Ceremonies will get underway at 6:30 pm on Friday, August 12, 2011. Dinner will be served and tickets will be $50, and available soon.

Discounted ALABAMA HAMMERS tickets/ U9 lacrosse exhibit

Special Notice: The State Champion HLA U9 team is playing during the half-time show at the Alabama Hammers arena football game at the VBC this Saturday, May, 21!

Discounted tickets ($6) are available at the box office or by call in to 256-551-2222. Mention HLA when you call in and the tickets will be available at Will Call the night of the game. The discounted tickets are only available until 3pm on Saturday. All tickets bought at the window will be full-price.

Doors open at 6:15 PM. Come out and show your support for the Alabama Hammers and Huntsville Lacrosse’s own U9 State Champions. All HLA players attending the game are encouraged to wear their HLA jerseys!
