When: Saturday, 12/15/2007, 9am-1pm
Where: Homewood Public Library Auditorium, 1721 Oxmoor Rd., Homewood, AL 35209
What to bring:
- food/drink for yourself
- 3 ring binder (training manual is already hole punched)
- your US Lacrosse # (a must have to be certified; register here, or recall your existing # here)
- check or exact cash payable to BYLL for $25 (HLA will reimburse certified refs this fee plus a uniform allowance after they have reffed TBD games in Spring ’08)
- Pen, notepad
- Lax stick & ball
- Specific situation questions
As usual, we’ll caravan from the I-565 Greenbriar exit leaving NLT 7am.

HLA needs your help! We must expand our referee ranks in order to meet the challenge of future growth. Even if you’re new to the game, we’ll support you and help you learn. Does that sound familiar?
Training will be held in B’ham on 12/15/07, from 9am-1pm. Commitment for training needed by Friday, 16 Nov 07 (to leave time for ordering training materials). Event posted to HLA calendar. Exact location for the training will be posted here when it’s available.
Further information:
- Adult and youth (ages 13 and up) refs are needed
- HLA board is considering requiring its U15 and HS captains to demonstrate leadership through a commitment to reffing
- Must be an active member of US Lacrosse to take training/get certified
- Certified refs will be paid for working games in Spring ’08 (exact amount TBD, but $20-30 per game ballpark)
- HLA will reimburse refs for certification, training, and some uniform allowance (again, exact amount TBD) after they have reffed five games
